Replacing Source File

I want to be able to update my source file regularly by replacing it with a new file using the same name and tab. How do I do that? Sheetgo seems to stay fixed on the original file.

Is there any possibility to work with a folder as a source?

If so, you can set it up as a source FILES IN A FOLDER and then select Only import data from the latest file, like the screenshot below.

Doesn’t matter how many files are in the folder, Sheetgo will only update the latest one.

Thanks Karoline. That looks like a good solution. Unfortunately, it is not available on the free edition. Is there a solution on the free edition?

It’s available on the free plan. You just have to go back to the first step and instead of choosing a single file, select “Files in a folder”.

If there was a way to update the google source sheet, that would work. But when importing a sheet with the same name, Google put a (1) behind it instead of letting it update the original sheet.

It still didn’t work, but when I started from scratch again, it worked! Thanks! But now I have forgotten how to add a second filter that goes to a different file than the first filter, using the same source folder (and same newest file). Can you help me with that?

This seems like a solution something I am working on as well; I have several CSVs that need to be updated regularly to replace data in the target google spreadsheet / sheet; the source files are CSV. The structure of the CSVs are different and specific to the spreadsheet.sheet they go into - ideally, I would like to be able to drop the CSVs into one directory and then process them to their respective target sheet based on the name of the CSV file (which will be consistent) - is there a way to do this efficiently using a directory or some other approach that might work?

If you create one folder with consecutive connection for each target sheet that should do the trick. This allows you to adjust the filters for each CSV. If then you adjust the settings to “only take the latest file in a folder” you have the most efficient way of doing this. Since you can keep the old CSVs in the folder as an archive.
