I saw a similar post here the other day, so I decided to pitch in with my own customization with Oliver. I wanted to make sure that all checkouts from my inventory automatically generated invoices since it’s particularly important for my accounting department.
Naturally, I already had both templates installed the Invoice Management and Invoice Generator I just didn’t want to keep copying and pasting information from one to the other.
In order not to break the functionalities of the Inventory management system, I simply added my extra columns to the right-most side of the spreadsheet, making sure to add the minimum information required for me to issue the invoices.
My pro tip here is to make sure to keep your customer database updated, that way you know whenever you need to input a new customer. I did a connection for that, but you can choose what’s more convenient for you.
I’ve added some formulas to include data that I need for invoices, such as invoice numbers, and then set up the connection accordingly. Once all of this is done, I set up a regular connection between my invoice generator sheet and my invoice checkout.
And that’s that. I put this connection at the top of my invoice-generating sheet, to make sure it always pulls the most recent info before running, and make sure to unlock that tab, so it doesn’t get finicky with the columns added by Sheetgo once the invoice is generated.
